Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at the free consultation? The free consultation is a relaxed 15–30 minute meet-and-greet where we get to know each other. We’ll talk about the student’s musical goals, explore their current skill level, introduce a few basics at the piano, and make sure we’re a good teacher-student fit. We’ll also review studio policies and practice expectations and answer any questions you may have.

Do I need a piano at home to begin lessons? You can begin lessons without a piano at home, but you will need access to one within the first week or two so you can practice between lessons.

What about practicing? Practice is an important part of learning to play an instrument or sing, but there’s no one-size-fits-all rule. We’ll work together to determine what’s realistic and needed for steady progress, and lesson assignments will be adjusted accordingly.
